Blog Crush - Pink Peonies

I came across Rachel Parcell’s blog Pink Peonies last week and was immediately in love. The first post I read was her two year anniversary which displayed her wedding photos and I am obsessed with her whole wedding. Click here & here to read the posts on her wedding. Wedding Wednesday

This week’s Wedding Wednesday is how to pop the question to your lady friends!

Here’s how I asked my sister to be my maid of honor. I now have my very own Pippa ;)

I mailed these boxes to my girlfriends to ask them to be my bridesmaids. Thankfully they all said yes!

I was able to ask my cousin and future sister in law in person. Many of the below photos are from my cousin. Thanks, Carol!

The boxes included rock candy, candy lipsticks, gumballs, thank you suckers, light up rings, candy bracelets, roll on glitter (duh), crown clips, nail files & nail polish. The nail polish names varied but were light pink and kept with the wedding theme. I loved OPI’s “Mimosas for Mr. and Mrs.”

I am so lucky to call them my best friends and can’t wait for all 9 of them to be by my side on our big day.

Future sister in-law, Tori :) We are going to have fun playing dress up!

Ballerina Project

I have always loved ballerinas (and wanted to be one when I was younger) so when I came across the Ballerina Project I was in heaven! All photographs in the series are by the photographer Dane Shitagi. Dane is a photographer based in New York City - the series has been crafted over the span of ten years.

Wedding Wednesday

This couple went to the exact spot their wedding photos were taken three years later to celebrate another life changing moment - parenthood!

I love this idea and think it is such a special visual timeline to hold onto forever.

She insisted on wearing the blood stained suit on the flight back to DC with her husband’s body as well as for the swearing in of Lyndon B. Johnson. My friend Marj shared this with me the other week and with all the summer birthdays I think it’s a perfect little treat!

Eat Yourself Skinny is where these images came from but the original recipe is from Little Bitty Bakes.

Ingredients:

1 (18.9 oz) box Funfetti cake mix

2 cups fat-free plain yogurt

1 cup lite Cool Whip

Fat-free animal crackers

In a large bowl, mix together cake mix, plain yogurt and Cool Whip until completely combined and you see no more lumps. Cover with plastic wrap and allow to chill for about 4 hours. Garnish with additional sprinkles if desired and serve with fat-free animal crackers.

I saw this picture and it made me think of the movie my boyfriend and I just saw last week called Moonrise Kingdom - I loved it! He is an Eagle Scout so it was right up his alley but the Wes Anderson film did not disappoint. It was about love, trust and companionship at a young age - and it made you laugh :) I would highly recommend it!
